Not only is Tibetan kitchen known for its delicious and authentic Himalayan dishes,  it has also built a reputation as a true pillar of the community. From hosting local events to offering free meals to those in need, the team is celebrated just as much for their generosity and warmth as for their food.

The family-run business began back in 2009, first introducing their now-infamous Momo’s at local markets. By 2012, they had the opportunity to run their own pop-up café, quickly gaining a loyal following. Since then, the business has continued to flourish, expanding across multiple locations in Manchester while also catering for festivals, weddings, and events.

Today, Tibetan Kitchen stands out as one of Manchester’s hidden gems. By blending traditional Tibetan recipes with locally sourced ingredients and a strong sense of community, they offer a truly authentic taste of the Himalayas right in the heart of the city.

Their latest venue at Chorlton Water Park provides a unique dining experience, perfect for enjoying a warming meal surrounded by nature or as a relaxing end to a lakeside walk. There are also exciting plans to develop the café into a hub for wellbeing, art, nature connection, and conservation. Making it a genuinely multipurpose space where visitors leave with both a full belly and a smile.

Tibetan Kitchen are also regular customers at our salvage and reclamation site, repurposing the discarded materials from film and theatre sets. Founder Sonny brings these materials back to life through creative building projects to enhance the business, adding another layer of sustainability and character.
